The brand new Skoda Fabia is the safest small car according to the latest batch of results from the boffins at Euro NCAP.
In November last year, the Skoda Fabia achieved the highest score in its segment, becoming the only one of 14 cars to score the full five stars in the stringent NCAP tests.
The Fabia received the full five stars in all four Euro NCAP categories – passenger protection for adults, child safety, safety assistance systems and pedestrian protection. The car was also awarded the maximum possible score for the protection of infants up to 18 months, while also scoring highly for its protection of children up to three years.
Amongst the range of safety tech fitted to the new Fabia is city emergency braking, available from SE spec upwards, which uses radar to constantly measure the distance to the vehicle in front and intervenes if you get too close.
The Fabia also comes with Driver Activity Assistant, which detects driver fatigue, along with a speed limiter, hill hold control and an electronic tyre pressure monitoring system.
And on top of this, each Fabia comes as standard with six airbags.
The new Fabia is available to buy now across the UK.
