The latest addition to the Leon CUPRA range stands alone with arguably no hot estate rival for the money.
The 2.0 litre turbocharged 280PS engine will push the Leon ST CUPRA 280 from 0-62 mph in six seconds and will be limited at its maximum speed to 155 mph. The Spanish manufacturer is the only brand to have produced one flagship performance model with three different bodystyle options.
In comparison to its nearest competitor, the Ford Focus ST-3, it wins on performance by 30PS and also comes with more standard equipment. CUPRA Drive Profile allows drivers to adjust suspension and SEAT Media System Plus and DAB radio, plus satellite navigation will bring the interior technology.
The boot will have a capacity of 587 litres and with the rear seats down, 1,470 litre of space will be available. The exterior will boast 19-inch CUPRA alloy wheels with titanium finish, red brake callipers, rear spoiler and diffuser housing two oval end chrome tailpipes, together with substantial air intakes at the front.
It will make its debut appearance at the Daly Telegraph Outdoor and Adventure Show which runs from 12th to 15th February and ordering is now open although the car won’t be seen in showrooms until March 2015.
