With the recent heavy rainfall and weather warnings being issued throughout the country, we thought we'd take a look at a car which can -- quite literally -- ford ev'ry stream.

The Scamander was the brainchild of the late former TVR boss Peter Wheeler. After selling TVR in 2004, Wheeler decided to carry on building mad, plastic cars and, thus, the Scamander was born.

After Wheeler died in 2009, his widow and a group of engineers set about finishing the project, and the result of their hard work is the car you see here.

The Scamander is fitted with a 300bhp turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 and can, on land at least, hit 62mph in less than 8 seconds and reach 120mph flat out. And when the going gets wet, an impeller fitted to the rear of the vehicle keeps the Scamander moving at a speed of up to six knots.

Unfortunately, the Scamander is just a prototype and there is no news regarding whether it will see production. Fingers crossed...
