Nissan have made their latest ProPILOT driver assistance technology available on the Qashqai crossover range.
It will cost an additional £795 on the price of Tekna and Tekna+ dCi 130 diesel Xtronic models. Prices for a Qashqai equipped with ProPILOT will start from £31,275 for a Tekna dCi 130 Xtronic.
For dCi 130 Manual transmission models, a Drive Assist Pack is available for £495, and includes most of the features f ProPILOT bar the ability to come to a halt and resume driving in traffic, so will boast Intelligent Lane Intervention, Intelligent Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist.
A special Pilot One Edition of the Nissan Qashqai has been produced to mark the arrival of ProPILOT. Based on the range-topping Tekna+ grade, the Pilot One is priced from £33,380 and features Storm White Pearlescent paint, Premium Plum Nappa leather interior, Xtronic sports pedals, chrome exterior styling pack, ‘Pilot One Edition’ door entry guards and interior badging.
ProPILOT enhances the driver’s control by assisting with steering, acceleration and braking. It works in a single lane on highways, and is optimised for low-speed congestion and high-speed cruising.
By liberating drivers from some of the more mundane elements of motoring, it reduces fatigue and stress and improves safety, enhancing overall control and confidence.
ProPILOT is Nissan’s first step towards autonomous driving, while still giving the driver hands-on control and responsibility for the vehicle.
