Peugeot has revealed the first image of its new Exalt saloon concept ahead of the car's planned debut at the Beijing Motor Show next week.
The new four-door model, which follows on from the Onyx concept revealed at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, features a hybrid drivetrain and a body which Peugeot claims is constructed of "original materials."
Information leaked yesterday to French media sources claims that the Exalt is made from an aerodynamic material inspired by shark skin. Copper, carbon-fibre and shatter resistant plastic have all been utilised in the Exalt's construction.
Powering the Exalt is Peugeot's high-tech Hybrid4 powertrain, which combines a petrol engine with an electric motor, giving a total of 335bhp. Unfortunately, Peugeot has yet to release any technical details or performance figures.
More details on the Exalt will be announced when the car makes its debut in Beijing on 20 April.
