Two new turbocharged petrol engines are now available on the Volkswagen Tiguan range.
A new 187bhp 2.0-litre unit is available from £36,140 on-the-road in R-Line trim, and £36,275 for the Elegance version, both with 4MOTION four-wheel drive and 7-speed DSG transmission as standard. In the R-Line model, fuel economy is 34.1mpg with CO2 emissions of 189g/km, while in Elegance trim those figures are 33.2mpg and 194g/km, with both versions capable of 0-62mph in 7.4 seconds.
The second new engine is a 242bhp version of the 2.0-litre power plant. This one is available in range-topping R-Line trim only, with a price tag of £39,560. Again, 4MOTION all-wheel drive and a 7-speed DSG transmission are both fitted as standard. The most powerful model in the Tiguan range, 0-62mph falls to six seconds flat, with a top speed of 142mpg, while still returning 32.1mpg with 200g/km of CO2 emissions.
