The all-new Skoda Scala has gone on UK sale priced from £16,595 on-the-road.

The compact hatchback comes in a choice of three trim levels and three engine options, with standard features including LED headlights, alloy wheels, and air-condition across the range.

Entry-level S models include 16-inch alloy wheels, leather steering wheel,leather gear lever, leather handbrake lever, height adjustable driver’s seat, DAB digital radio, front and rear electric windows, infotainment system with 6.5-inch screen, front head and side airbags, Front assist, Lane assist, Speed limiter and Emergency call with proactive services.

Priced from £18,585 on-the-road, the mid-range adds features including cruise control, rear parking sensors, Bolero infotainment system with 8-inch touchscreen, and height adjustable passenger seat.

Range-topping SE L models are priced from £20,385 on-the-road and include an Amundsen infotainment system with 9.2-inch glass touchscreen, Virtual Cockpit, climate control air conditioning, keyless entry with start/stop, colour multifunction trip computer, 17-inch alloy wheels, full LED rear lights, dynamic indicators, rear privacy glass, silver Microsuede seat trims, and chrome details on the dashboard, door panelling, gear, and handbrake lever.

Two petrol engines and one diesel engine are available, with a third petrol option to follow later in the year. A 113bhp 1.0-litre petrol and a 148bhp 1.5-litre petrol engine are available to order now, alongside a 113bhp 1.6 TDI diesel, all three with the option of a seven-speed DSG transmission.

The Scala has been designed to maximise cabin space, and Skoda proclaim it to offer class-leading rear headroom as well as a 467-litre boot which grows to 1,410-litres once the rear seats are folded.

Order books are open now at Skoda retailers, and the Scala will begin to appear in UK showrooms this summer. Customers can also take advantage of a Skoda Solutions Personal Contract Plan which sees a 1.0-litre TSI petrol SE model available for just £229 per month at 5.9 percent APR Representative.
