Last month’s launch of the all new Subaru Outback has provided the catalyst for a spectacular turnaround in sales for the brand.
The crossover estate went on UK sale in April and has proved a massive hit with Subaru customers. As a result, the Japanese manufacturer saw its total overall sales for last month shoot up by 73 per cent compared to April 2014, according to official figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. Subaru’s UK sales are up by almost 50 per cent for the first four months of 2015 compared to the same period last year.
Subaru’s renaissance has been further boosted by a revamp of the Forester SUV range and strong demand for the WRX STi saloon, while the manufacturer hopes that the introduction of the new Levorg sport tourer later this year will help maintain that momentum.
“The launch of the new Outback has gone very well and is bringing new customers to the brand”, said Subaru UK Managing Director Paul Tunnicliffe.
“We are continuing to build the dealer network so that Subaru becomes more accessible to more people, and we are looking forward to the new Levorg coming to Europe later this year.”
