Skoda have added sporty vRS versions to the fourth-generation Octavia range, and for the first time there are three power options – petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid.
The vRS specification has been a popular choice for buyers of previous Octavia models, accounting for more than a fifth of all third-generation models sold in the UK.
A 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine producing 197bhp can be chosen with either a 6-speed manual, 6-speed DSG, or 7-speed DSG transmission. The 242bhp 2.0-litre diesel model comes exclusively with the 7-speed DSG automatic, and also benefits from the option of all-wheel drive. A lowered sports suspension is also a feature.
The vRS specification includes black detailing, black 18-inch alloy wheels, red brake callipers, full LED Matrix headlights, and vRS badges. Inside is a rearranged dash, fronnt sports seats with integrated headrests, contrast stitching in red or silver-grey, Alcantara-covered instrument panel, carbon-effect decorative strips, and aluminium pedals. All vRS models come with Skoda’s Virtual Cockpit instrument panel, Collision Avoidance Assist, Turn Assist and Exit Warning, and Local Traffic Warning systems.
Full specification, performance, and pricing details for the latest Skoda Octavia vRS will follow.
