The new Mercedes-Benz A-Class Saloon has gone on sale priced from £27,875 on-the-road.
Sport and AMG Line trim levels are available, both with a seven-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
Sport models boast twin seven-inch displays, including a central touchscreen, with MBUX multimedia system and ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice activation, comfort suspension, DAB radio, 17-inch alloy wheels, Artico and Fléron fabric upholstery, automatic two-zone climate control, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Speed Limit Assist, and Keyless-Go starting function. AMG Line adds 18-inch AMG alloy wheels, AMG bodystyling, Artico and Dinamica microfibre upholstery, and three-spoke sports steering wheel.
Entry-level 180 d models are powered by a 116bhp 1.5-litre diesel engine, delivering up to 68.9 mpg combined cycle and with CO2 emissions of 110 g/km. Top speed is 125 mph, and 0-62 mph in 10.5 seconds. A 200 models have a 163bhp 1.3-litre petrol engine, with a fuel economy figure up to 51.4 mpg and 121 g/km of CO2.
For £1,395, an optional Executive adds a 10.25-inch touchscreen, Active Parking Assist with Parktronic, heated front seats, and Mirror package. The Premium equipment package - an extra £2,395 - adds a 10.25-inch cockpit display with widescreen effect, 64-colour ambient lighting, illuminated door sills, Keyless-Go, upgraded sound system, and rear armrest. Premium Plus package adds electrically-operated seats with front seat memory function, multibeam LED head lights with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, and a panoramic sunroof, all for an additional £3,595. The Advanced Navigation package is priced at £495, and adds augmented reality satellite navigation by overlaying an image of the road ahead onto the navigation display, plus Traffic Sign Assist.
