Orders are now being taken for the new Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster.

Prices for the new model start from £178,675 on-the-road with first customer deliveries scheduled for the autumn.

Powered by a hand-built, 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo engine which produced a prodigious 585bhp, the GT R Roadster can do 0-62mph in just 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 197mph. Power-to-weight ratio is aided by a lightweight construction, which includes an aluminium, magnesium, and steel-framed soft top trimmed with three layers of fabric and and a noise-reducing acoustic mat. The soft top’s performance is as impressive as that of the car itself, taking just 11 seconds to be opened or closed. Standard features include LED High Performance headlights with Adaptive Highbeam Assist, active aerodynamics, AMG nappa leather performance seats, AMG performance exhaust, AMG Drive Unit including traction control, manually adjustable aerofoil, yellow brake callipers, climatised seats with memory package, air scarf with neck level heating, Driving Assistance pack including Active Distance Distronic and Blind Spot Assist, 10.25-inch media display and 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, Burmester high end surround sound system, AMG Interior Night package, AMG matt carbon fibre trim, and DINAMICA roof liner. For an extra £5,995 an AMG high-performance ceramic composite braking system can be added to that list.
