The new Mazda6 Saloon and Tourer models go on UK sale this week.
Priced from £23,195, the new Mazda6 range includes four trim levels - SE-L Nav+, SE-L LUX Nav+, Sport Nav+ and GT Sport Nav+ - as well as marking the UK debut of Mazda’s new 2.5-litre SKYACTIV-G engine.
The face-lifted Mazda6’s fresh frontal design notably features a new grille, as well as revised LED headlamps, redesigned lower bumper, and air intake, while at the rear the Saloon has a remodelled boot lid. New alloy wheel designs and a new Soul Red Crystal Metallic paint option conclude the exterior styling changes.
Inside the cabin is a larger eight-inch centre display screen, full colour windscreen-projected Active Driving Display, redesigned dashboard and door trims, and improved seat comfort.
The new 2.5-litre SKYACTIV-G engine features cylinder deactivation that will switch off two cylinders between 25 and 50mph to improve efficiency. Other engine options are the 2.0-litre SKYACTIV-G engine which now has new intake ports, new pistons, and revised fuel injection and cooling, while the 2.2-litre SKYACTIV-D diesel engine has received a power upgrade.
Ride comfort has been enhanced by suspension fine tuning and component upgrades, with new bump stops, front and rear dampers, and rebound springs.
Thicker floor and rear wheel housing noise insulation panels, plus body reinforcement in places where vibration can penetrate the cabin, reduce cabin noise further. New bumper and engine undercovers streamline airflow under the car to improve aerodynamic performance, while SKYACTIV-G models now include active air shutter that closes when the engine does not need cooling to improve efficiency.
All Mazda6 models now feature i-ACTIVESENSE technology systems including Blind Spot Monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, Mazda Radar Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist and Advanced Smart City Break Support.
The new Mazda6 range will be available to order from Friday 20 July.
