Price and specification details for the new Honda CR-V have now been announced ahead of the model’s March sales launch.
The British-built SUV will start from £22,340 on-the-road for the entry-level two-wheel-drive 2.0 i-VTEC manual S-grade, rising to £35,620 for the top-of-the-range all-wheel-drive1.6 i-DTEC 9-speed automatic.
A highlight of the range is the new twin-stage turbo1.6 i-DTEC engine which returns 57.7mpg combined while producing 129g/km. Even when chosen with the 9-speed automatic gearbox the combined fuel economy is still 55mpg.
Four trim levels – S, SE, SR, and EX – are available, with the Navi option adding SatNav, and the £500 Driver’s Assistance Package on SE and SR models adding a range of safety aids including forward collision warning, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning, blind spot information and high beam support system.
The entry-level S boasts Intelligent Multi Info Display (i-MID), driver power lumbar support, Idle Stop, Dual Zone Climate Control, cruise control, 17-inch alloy wheels, fabric interior, Hill Start Assist, steering wheel stereo controls, power windows and heated power mirrors, daytime running lights, alarm and immobiliser, USB/iPod auxiliary input, one touch folding rear seats, CD tuner and 4 speaker stereo, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Anti-lock braking system (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) and central locking.
SE gains leather steering wheel and gear-stick, rain sensing auto wipers, dusk-sensing auto lights, auto-dim rear view mirror, front and rear parking sensors, rear-view parking camera, one-touch keyfob-operated power windows, electrically folding door mirrors, 6-speaker stereo, Honda CONNECT, an HDMI and two USB jacks, and front fog lights, while the automatic transmissions come with hill descent control and paddle shift.
The SR features a leather and alcantara interior, heated front seats, ambient lighting, high power audio with subwoofer, Honda CONNECT with the Navi option, colour-coded roof rails, privacy glass, Bi-HID lights with Auto Levelling, active cornering lights, High Beam Support System, headlight washers, 18-inch alloy wheels, passenger power lumbar support, and manual passenger seat height adjustment.
Meanwhile, the range-topping EX adds smart entry, electric driver’s seat with memory, leather interior, power tailgate, panoramic glass roof, and metallic door-step garnish.
The new Honda CR-V is available in both two-wheel and four-wheel drive formats, and also features the new i-ACC system which boasts the latest developments in adaptive cruise control technology. The system constantly scans the road to predict the behaviour of surrounding traffic and gently applies corrective braking.
Honda anticipate its Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) scheme will prove a popular choice for CR-V buyers, with the finance package seeing the 2.0 i-VTEC SE two-wheel-drive cost just £289 over 3-years period at 5.9% APR. The manufacturer is also hoping its £500, 5-year servicing package will be attractive to customers.
