Order books have opened on the new Ford Focus RS Edition.
Priced from £35,795, the new Focus RS Edition includes exclusive styling features including signature Nitrous Blue paint finish, black interior, two-tone seats, and carbon fibre trim.
However, it is in performance where Ford hope the new model will stand out, and the inclusion of a mechanical Quaife limited-slip differential is designed to help maximise traction from the 345bhp 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine. Meanwhile, the fitted-as-standard Ford Performance All Wheel Drive system varies the front-to-rear torque distribution by monitoring inputs from vehicle sensors 100 times per second and sending a maximum of 70 per cent of the drive torque to the rear axle. Dynamic Torque Vectoring uses electronically-controlled clutch packs on the rear axle to send up to 100 per cent of the available torque to either rear wheel, and can switch drive from one side to the other in as little as 0.06 seconds. Torque Vectoring Control automatically applies small amounts of brake force to limit wheel spin at the front axle, while drive modes on the Focus RS Edition include Drift Mode for controlled oversteer drifts and Launch Control for ultimate performance from a standing start. Altogether, this gives the Focus RS Edition a 0-62mph time of just 4.7sec.
Other standard equipment includes black cast 19-inch alloy wheels with RS centre caps, Brembo four-piston monoblock callipers finished in RS blue, Recaro shell seats with exclusive Nitrous Blue leather applications, carbon fibre interior trim details, privacy glass, rear parking sensors, electric folding mirrors, cruise control with speed limiter, Ford KeyFree system, heated steering wheel, and Active City Stop.
The new Ford Focus RS Edition can be ordered now at Ford retailers.
