Jaguar are bringing out a new near-300bhp engine to be used in the XE, XF, and F-PACE models.
The 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol power plant is the latest to join Jaguar’s Ingenium range of engines, and is powerful enough to propel the award-winning F-PACE performance SUV from 0-62mph in just six seconds flat, while still returning 37mph.
In the Jaguar XF saloon the 296bhp engine performs even better, returning 40mpg and 0-62mph in 5.6 seconds, while in the XE saloon those figures are just 5.5 seconds and 41.5mpg.
Built at Jaguar Land Rover’s Engine Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton, the new engine includes twin-scroll turbochargers with friction-reducing ceramic ball bearings and a high flow compressor wheel, and is paired with an advanced ZF eight-speed automatic transmission for optimal responsiveness.
Prices for models fitted with the new engine start from £38,145 on-the-road for the Jaguar XE, £44,335 on-the-road for the XF, and £44,760 on-the-road for the F-PACE.
