New Astra on sale this week | New Release - Car News Jul 2019

The new Vauxhall Astra will be available to order from this Thursday priced from £18,885 on-the-road.

A refreshed exterior look, all-new powertrain options, and the latest technology are all expected to give the ever-popular Astra a new lease of life.  The model remains one of the UK’s best-loved cars, Vauxhall having sold more than three million examples over the past four decades.

Prices for the new Astra hatchback start from £18,885 on-the-road for the entry-level 1.2-litre petrol SE with six-speed manual transmission, rising to £29,310 on-the-road for the 1.5-litre diesel auto in Ultimate Nav trim.  A sports tourer estate will also be available to order at launch, priced from £20,355 on-the-road for the 1.2 SE.

New Astra features a redesigned front grille and bumper design, new LED headlamps on higher trim levels, and lower CO2 emissions due in part to a design which is amongst the most aerodynamically efficient in its class.  A range of all-new three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol and diesel engines with start/stop are all Euro-6 emissions regulation compliant, and have CO2 reductions of up to 19 per cent versus the outgoing Astra model.

Fully-updated Multimedia Radio, Multimedia Navi and Multimedia Navi Pro systems are included, and are compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.  Top-of-the-range Multimedia Navi Pro comes as standard on Elite Nav and Ultimate Nav models, with an eight-inch colour touchscreen and voice control.  Connected navigation services are available, which present the driver with real-time traffic information and online map updates, making the journey as easy as possible.  The navigation display has redesigned symbols, while the instrument cluster features a new digital speedometer.  Range-topping Ultimate Nav models boast a Bose premium sound system, wireless charging, and IntelliLux LED Matrix headlamp system.

Full pricing and specification details will be available at Vauxhall retailers, who will be taking orders on the new Astra from Thursday this week.
