This month sees the order books open on the most powerful Volkswagen Tiguan to date.
Priced from £36,450 on-the-road, the 237bhp Volkswagen Tiguan BiTDI has more power on tap than the Golf GTi, with the new 2.0-litre bi-turbo producing 30bhp more than the model it replaces.
Fitted as standard with Volkswagen’s 4MOTION four-wheel drive system and a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox, the Tiguan BiTDI is capable of going from 0-62mph in just 6.5 seconds and to a top speed of 142mph. With features such as Selective Catalyst Reduction, Start/Stop, and battery regeneration, the EU6 emissions compliant BiTDI engine produces just 167g/km of CO2.
The new Tiguan BiTDI is available in SEL and R-Line trim levels. The SEL has standard features that include Volkswagen’s Discover Navigation infotainment and SatNav system with eight-inch colour touch-screen, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Active Info Display – a 12.3-inch high-resolution TFT which replaces the conventional analogue instrument panel. The range-topping R-Line adds roof spoiler, rear diffuser, front air intake, 20-inch ‘Suzuka’ alloy wheels, unique R-Line sill protectors and carpet mats, bespoke ‘Race’ cloth seats featuring ‘San Remo’ microfibre, stainless steel pedals, and black rooflining.
The new Tiguan is available to order at Volkswagen retailers.
