A 35% upturn in sales last month saw Mitsubishi post its best September in 14 years.

Mitsubishi sold 3,233 cars last month, with 1,325 of those being the consistently popular Outlander PHEV.  The manufacturer has attributed its strong performance in part to the introduction of the all-new Eclipse Cross at the start of this year, with 1,067 sold last month and 4,492 this year so far.

Rob Lindley, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK commented, “We are delighted with such a strong performance in September across our whole range of vehicles. The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV continues to be popular with buyers, while the all-new Eclipse Cross and Shogun Sport models are helping the brand win over new customers, so overall we remain on target to achieve our sales ambitions, despite some of the challenges in the car market.”
