MG has joined the ranks of electric vehicle manufacturers with the launch of the MG ZS EV.

Prices for the entry-level MG ZS EV Excite start from £28,495, but with a Government Grant of £3,500 that MG will match for the first 1,000 customers, the new model can be driven away for just £21,495.  To take advantage of this introductory offer, customers are asked to visit www.mg.co.uk/electric and place a £500 deposit.

The MG ZS EV boasts an all-electric range of 163 miles, rapid charging capability, and a 7-year warranty covering both the car and the 44.5kWh lithium-ion battery.  Water-cooling allows for frequent rapid charging, while the battery is positioning beneath the car to negate the impact on cabin or storage space and aid centre of gravity and weight distribution.

The MG Pilot feature includes Advanced Emergency Braking, Blindspot Monitoring, Lane Keep Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control, while other standard equipment includes panoramic sliding Sky Roof, and an 8-inch colour touchscreen proving access to satellite navigation, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth phone connectivity with audio streaming and DAB radio.

The MG ZS EV is available to order now, with deliveries due to start in September.
