Prices for the new Mercedes-AMG E 53 4MATIC+ will start from £61,835 for the saloon and £63,835 for the estate version, it has been confirmed this week.
Powered by AMG’s new 435bhp 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine, it is fitted with an EQ Boost starter-alternator system for an extra 22bhp, and improved fuel consumption of 32.5 mpg with 200 g/km of CO2 emissions. The new engine is allied with an AMG Speedshift TCT 9G transmission for optimised response to shift paddle inputs, a double-declutching function, and multiple downshifts. Both saloon and estate models are capable of an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph, and 0-62 mph in just four-and-a-half seconds.
Standard features include 19-inch alloy wheels, AMG performance exhaust, AMG Ride Control suspension, AMG Dynamic Select with a choice of driving modes, Comand Online including a 12.3-inch infotainment display, 12.3-inch cockpit display, Multibeam LED Intelligent Light System, Nappa black leather upholstery with red contrast stitching, wireless phone charging, parking package with 360° camera, and memory package with electrically adjustable front seats and steering column.
A Premium Plus pack adds Burmester surround sound system, Keyless-Go Comfort with hands-free access, automatic boot closing and keyless entry, and panoramic glass sunroof for an additional £2,595. Comfort package is a further £395 and features Air Balance and Energizing Comfort Control. The £1,695 Driving Assistance Plus package adds Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Braking Assist with cross-traffic function, Active Distance Assist Distronic with Active Steering Assist, Active Speed Limit Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Evasive Steering Assist, Pre-Safe Impulse Side, and Pre-Safe Plus.
