The first image of the new Mercedes S-Class Coupe has surfaced online ahead of the car's planned debut at next month's Geneva Motor Show.
As you can see from the image, the new coupe looks broadly similar to the S-Class Coupe concept which was revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show last September. The production car retains the concept's sleek lines and sloping roofline, giving the coupe a more elegant profile than the saloon.
Unfortunately, no images of the S-Class Coupe's interior have been published; however, given the opulence of the saloon's cabin, we're expecting the Coupe's interior to similarly plush.
We're expecting the Coupe to be powered by the same 4.7-litre twin-turbo V8 fitted to the S5000, developing 449bhp. A higher-powered AMG model, with either a V8 or a V12, is expected to follow.
The new S-Class Coupe is the replacement for the existing CL-Class and will see the reunification of the S-Class saloon and coupe models under the same nameplate for the first time since 1998.
Sales of the new S-Class Coupe are expected to start around the middle of this year, with prices kicking off from around £100k.
