A petrol version of the Maserati Levante SUV is headed for the UK, joining the diesel model launched last year.

Priced from £70,555 on-the-road, the Maserati Levante S will be powered by 430bhp 3.0-litre V6 twin turbo petrol engine built by Ferrari, a power plant which propels the luxury SUV from 0-62mph in just 5.2 seconds, and to a top speed of 164mph. The Levante S can be personalised with a range of optional extras, including an opulent Zegna Mulberry Silk interior.

Maserati have cited customer demand for prompting the decision to add a petrol version. The Levante was first launched in the UK last year in diesel form, with a 275bhp 3.0-litre twin turbo unit.

Both models benefit from active air suspension and intelligent Q4 all-wheel drive systems as standard.

The petrol-powered Levante S will be available to order from Maserati dealers starting this September.
