There's an old saying about money: "You can't take it with you when you go." Most people would tend to agree with this; however, a businessman from Brazil has revealed plans to bury his Bentley Continental Flying Spur... so he can drive it in the afterlife.
Inspired to some extent by the Egyptian Pharaohs, who believed that burying the treasures would allow them to be with their riches in the afterlife, 62-year-old Conde Chiquinho Scarpa has posted a picture on his personal Facebook pages showing him stood between his £140,000 Bentley and the big hole in which he intends to bury it.
"For those who are wavering, just yesterday I've already begun to make the hole in the yard to bury my Bentley. By the end of the week I bury it!" he wrote on his Facebook page.
"I decided to do as the Pharaohs: this week I will bury my favourite car, the Bentley here in the home garden!"
The funeral ceremony, apparently, will take place at 11am at his home in Sao Paulo.
Scarpa apparently decided to bury the Bentley following a series of near-death experiences. In 2009 he was in a coma for two months after picking up a superbug during a stomach reduction operation.
