For the first time in almost 45 years the Mercedes-Benz S-Class will be available in cabriolet form after a new model was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The original Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet became a 60s style icon over two generations of the model, but since production stopped in 1971 Mercedes-Benz aficionados have had a long wait for the next generation S-Class Cabriolet.
"After 44 years we can again offer friends of our company an open variant of the S-Class”, said Ola Källenius of Daimler AG. “The new S-Class Cabriolet symbolises our passion for individual and timelessly exclusive mobility, which we share with our customers”.
Technology has moved on dramatically since the last S-Class Cabriolet, with the new model boasting AIRCAP, an enhanced automatic wind protection system, and AIRSCARF, a neck-level heating system. Heated armrests and seats, plus intelligent fully automated climate control further enhance the new S-Class Cabriolet’s creature comforts.
Full details of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet, including specification, pricing, and launch dates, will follow later.
