Kia has announced improvements to the Carens MPV range that will be introduced later this year.
The latest Kia Carens entered the market three years ago, and Kia hope the changes will enable it to build on growing sales figures for the model.
Revised front and rear bumpers, new fog lamps, and an updated ‘tiger-nose’ grille are the most obvious changes to the Kia Carens, and external upgrades continue with a new Mysterious Blue paint colour, and three new alloy wheel designs.
Inside there is new seat upholstery and new metallic and gloss-black accents, as well as a new carbon-effect dash trim.
Technological advancements include the last Kia Human-Machine Interface (HMI) with 7.0-inch or 8.0-inch touchscreen, Kia Connected Services with TomTom, and a rear-view parking camera. HMI also includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A new JBL premium sound system with subwoofer, external amp, and six speaker will be included on selected models.
Under the bonnet, the 114bhp 1.7-litre diesel engine gains a new Eco Pack with idle Stop/Go, Michelin low rolling resistance tyres, and revised gear ratios, resulting in CO2 emissions falling as low as 109g/km.
Any changes to the Carens’ pricing structure will be confirmed by Kia when the revised range is launched later this year.
