New details on specification and pricing have been released ahead of the all-new Kia Stonic sales launch.

The Kia Stonic will officially go on showroom sale next month replacing the Kia Venga, but order books are open now for the all-new B-segment model.

There range will be based on two trim grades – 2 and First Edition - and three engine options.  The Stonic will be available with a 98bhp 1.4-litre multi-point injection petrol engine, a 118bhp 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol, or a 108bhp 1.6-litre CRDi turbodiesel power plant, all with a six-speed manual gearbox and intelligent engine stop/start system.  All models will are front-wheel drive only.

The Stonic is based on the new Rio supermini, but is slightly longer than Rio at 4,140mm, 70mm taller, and with a ride height 42mm higher from the ground.  All models include Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, and Hill-start Assist as standard.  Autonomous Emergency Braking and Lane Departure Warning System are standard on First Edition models and optional on grade 2.  The First Edition also has Blind Spot Detection with Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

A 7.0-inch display with a DAB radio and MP3 compatibility in grade 2 models is upgraded to 7.0-inch touchscreen navigation and infotainment system featuring TomTom, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration for the First Edition.

All models have 17-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, electric windows, roof rails, rear parking sensors, remote locking, electrically adjustable heated door mirrors, a 3.5-inch supervision cluster, Bluetooth with voice recognition and music streaming, automatic light control, bi-function projection headlamps, cornering lights, LED daytime running lights, body-coloured bumpers, body-coloured door mirror casings, body-coloured door handles, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, 60:40 split rear seats and a six-speaker audio system as standard.
First Edition adds smart key entry system, engine start/stop button, stainless steel pedals, black cloth and grey faux leather upholstery with colour accents, automatic air conditioning, LED rear lights, rear privacy glass, heated front seats, D-shaped steering wheel, chrome window trim and interior door handles, and a dual-height luggage floor.

Pricing will start at £16,295 for the 1.4-litre petrol grade 2, rising to £20,495 for the range-topping First Edition 1.6 CRDi diesel.

Kia has targeted 70,000 Stonic sales across Europe in 2018, with the UK to contribute at least 10 per cent of that total.
