Italian cars enthusiasts across the UK are already looking forward to the annual Italian Car Day at Brooklands, which is the biggest gathering of Italian cars in the UK.
The event is being staged on Saturday 5th May and British fans of Italian cars are expected to turn up in their droves.
"Anyone who turns up in an Italian car - or motorcycle - forms part of the display, rather than being merely a spectator," said event organiser Phil Ward of GB Promotions.
Ward stressed that the greatest thing about the event is that it welcomes Italian car enthusiasts and owners, regardless of whether they own a famous historic racing car, the latest road-going Ferrari, a much-loved classic or the smallest, most affordable modern Fiat on the market.
Beating 2011's records
Organisers expect the 2012 Italian Car Day to beat previous records for attendance. With more than 2,000 Italian cars - including more than 240 Ferraris - last year's event in Weybridge, Surrey, was already a great success.
At last year's show, up to 5,000 visitors enjoyed the display of Italian manufacturing prowess. Spectators were treated to an array of Italian cars models including: the ex-Rob Walker Ferrari 250 SWB, Ferrari Enzo, F50, 288GTO and 275GTB. Other models that showed the best in Italian design on the day included cars from Maserati, Lamborghini, Abarth, Bizzarrini, De Tomaso, Innocenti, Moretti, and Siata.
"In addition to the vast displays of exotica and 'obscurati', there is always a good, solid turn-out of classic and modern Alfa Romeos, Fiats and Lancias, so no one need feel outshone when they turn up in their Italian pride and joy and park up with similar models," added Ward.
The first Italian Car Day took place at Syon Park in 1986, and was a champagne picnic attended by just 85 car owners.
A decade on the event moved to Brooklands, growing in popularity each year to become the UK's largest gathering of Italian cars.
