It's happened to the best of us.

You're driving along, minding your own business, when a 16ft python crawls into your engine bay.

Okay, chances are this probably hasn't happened to you, but it did happen to Marlene Swart and Leon Swanepoel in Kruger National Park in South Africa.

The deadly snake slithered under the couple's car while they were out doing a touch of lion-spotting. As you do.

"The python disappeared underneath our car and about two minutes later everyone started laughing when it failed to reappear," said Swart. "When we eventually opened the bonnet the snake was just relaxing, watching all of the commotion around him."

The couple were left with no other option but to continue driving with the massive snake in situ before attempting to remove it.

Luckily no-one was bitten, and the snake was unharmed.
