The all-new Vauxhall Astra, which will be built here in the UK, is to be given its official world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
Announcing that the wraps will officially be taken off the new model at 9am on the 15 September, Vauxhall Chairman Tim Tozer said, “The all-new Brit-built Astra raises the bar in terms of quality, design and connectivity.”
Built at Vauxhall’s Ellesmere Port plant in Cheshire, the all-new Astra will be up to 200kg lighter than the outgoing model despite a roomier cabin, while inside there is a plethora of technology including Vauxhall’s new OnStar system. OnStar includes a high-speed mobile network, emergency response notification, and stolen vehicle recovery technology. The all-new Astra also gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as part of its IntelliLink infotainment system.
Buyers of the all-new Astra benefit from a range of petrol and diesel power plants, including the new four-cylinder, 1.4-litre ECOTEC Direct Injection Turbo engine.
Full details of the all-new Astra range will be available from Vauxhall retailers.
