Ford launches 5-door Fiesta ST | New Release - Car News Sep 2016

Ford has announced that the award-winning Fiesta ST will be made available in five-door form for the first time.

The five-door bodystyle will be available on ST-2 and ST-3 models from next month priced from £19,495, with Ford predicting that five-door sales will account for a quarter of Fiesta STs sold on the European market going forward.

Distinctive styling features include 17-inch alloy wheels, unique grille, rear diffuser, and five colour options including Race Red and Spirit Blue, Inside are Recaro seats and ST detailing, while under the bonnet is a 180bhp 1.6-litre EcoBoost petrol engine which makes the Fiesta ST capable of 0-62mph in just 6.9 seconds while still offering 46.3mpg combined. A Ford Performance-tuned chassis boasts optimised suspension, steering and brakes, as well as three-mode Electronic Stability Control and Torque Vectoring Control, which applies brake force to the inside front wheel when cornering to improve road holding and reduce understeer.

Having sold over 38,000 Fiesta STs in Europe since the model was launched three years ago, Ford says it is responding to calls from its customers to begin offering the model in five-door form.
