For an extra £899 Ford Focus RS buyers will now be able to take advantage of added performance from the already award-winning hot hatch courtesy of a new power upgrade package.

A joint effort by Ford Performance and specialist outfit Montune has eked a further 25bhp from the 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine, raising the power output to 370bhp. With peak torque also enhanced, the performance is notably improved. Indeed, with a 0-62mph time of just 4.5 seconds, the enhanced Ford Focus RS will out accelerate a Porsche 911 Carrera. Top speed remains unchanged at 165mph.

The Ford Performance by Montune kit uses overboost to achieve those impressive statistics, and also includes a high-performance air filter, a bespoke alloy crossover duct with high-performance silicone hoses, upgraded air re-circulation valve, and revised ECU tuning software. The upgrade can be carried out in just an hour-and-a-half at Montune-appointed Ford Dealers, and is compatible with the original Ford warranty.
