Seat are celebrating after their first ever SUV model, the new Ateca, passed Euro NCAP crash safety testing with flying colours.
The Ateca – which goes on UK sale from September - gained a full five star rating from the organisation, with strong performance in adult passenger and child safety, pedestrian protection, and driver assistance systems.
Euro NCAP have increased the number of test and set higher benchmarks this year, but the Seat Ateca excelled in part due to the inclusion of an emergency city and motorway braking system, Front Assist with pedestrian recognition, seven airbags including a driver’s knee airbag, as well as seatbelts with pretensioner and load limiter in the front and rear seats. The Ateca also features Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, 360-degree view with rear camera, and Tiredness Recognition System.
