Fisker is recalling 2400 of its Karma luxury cars after one caught fire in California last week.
This was the second incident in which a Karma has caught fire. In May, a Karma burst into flames in a customer's garage in Sugar Land, Texas, damaging two other cars and a house.
Fisker has identified the cause of the fires and it appears that a faulty low temperature cooling fan is to blame for the incidents.
Last year, Fisker was forced to recall 239 of its Karmas over fears that an improperly-positioned hose clamp could allow coolant to leak into the battery compartment, potentially causing a fire.
In May, the owner of a Fisker Karma drove his car into his garage shortly before it burst into flames.
A Mercedes 4x4 and an Acura NSX (Honda NSX) were destroyed in the blaze, and the damage to the house alone was estimated at $100,000 (£63,000).
The car was less than two months old and was manufactured after the previous recall.
This Karma incinerated itself while its owner went shopping in Woodside, California.
By the time the Emergency Services had arrived, the car was a burned-out shell.
