Fiat has confirmed prices and specification for the new Fullback pickup, which goes on UK sale from 4 July.
The double cab Fullback will start from £20,995 (excluding VAT) for the entry-level SX model, which boasts a standard equipment list including remote central locking, electric windows and mirrors, Bluetooth connectivity, DAB digital radio, leather-trimmed steering wheel and gearknob, steering-wheel mounted remote audio controls, air conditioning, Start & Stop, front fog lamps, tubular side step, seven airbags, advanced ESC with ASR, Trailer Stability Assist, hill start assist, cruise control with speed limiter, and 16-inch alloy wheels. The LX version, which starts from £22,995, gains 17-inch alloy wheels and substantial, body-coloured wheel arch protectors, Lane Departure Warning, keyless go, leather upholstery, electrically-adjusted and heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, bi-xenon headlamps with washers, enhanced body styling, privacy glass and a 6.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with DAB, and a reversing camera. The LX Automatic, with 5-speed transmission, starts from £24,395 and adds an upgraded 7-inch infotainment system and transmission paddle gear shifters.
The Fiat Fullback SX’s 150bhp 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine offers a combined 44.2mpg and CO2 emissions of 169g/km, connected to a six-speed manual transmission. Power rises to 180bhp for the all-wheel-drive LX model, which emits 173g/km and does 42.2mpg.
With a one-tonne payload and un-braked towing capacity up to 3,100kg, Fiat hope the Fullback will help them to a slice of the burgeoning UK pickup sector, which grew by 20% in 2015.
