The Volkswagen e-up! electric car has been treated to a host of updates.

Standard equipment has been beefed up to include height adjustable driver’s seat, rear-view camera, and a stylish new seat trim design.

Despite the updates, the e-up!’s new price of £23,115 on-the-road represents a saving of £2,935 over the previous list price, saving £3,250 overall when the new additional standard equipment has been factored in.

The e-up! is also currently eligible for the £3,500 Government Plug-In Car Grant, reducing purchase price further.

The Volkswagen e-up! uses a 374 volt, 18.7 kWh battery pack with an all-electric range of 83 miles, and consumption of just 11.7 kWh/62 miles combined. The battery pack can be fully charge in nine hours from a standard three-pin plug socket, or six hours from a 3.6 kWh wall box. A rapid charge point can provide 80 per cent capacity in just 30 minutes.
