Volkswagen has released the first images of the new T-Roc Cabriolet, which will be officially unveiled at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
The drophead crossover SUV will go on sale from next spring, with full details to follow closer to launch.
Its soft top is fully automatic and opens in just nine seconds at speeds up to 18mph. It has roll-over protection which can be extended behind the rear seats, and which springs upwards in the area of the rear headrests within a fraction of a second. The T-Roc Cabriolet also has a reinforced windscreen frame.
The new T-Roc Cabriolet will be available with the next- generation MIB3 Infotainment system, which enables the car to be permanently online as soon as the driver has registered it in the Volkswagen system.
Information is displayed on an 8-inch infotainment system screen, with an additional optional 11.7-inch Active Info Display.
Style and R-Line models will be available at launch, the latter boasting such features as fog lights, sports-tuned running gear, and progressive steering with speed-dependent steering control. There will be a choice either a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol turbo or 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol turbo, the latter of which will have the option of a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox in place of the standard six-speed manual.
