Aston Martin has started production of its much anticipated DB11 model.
The fist DB11 rolled off the Gaydon production line this week with customer deliveries to begin next month.
Aston Martin unveiled the DB11 to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and so far the manufacturer has taken more than 3,000 orders for the hand-built model. It is the first of seven new models which form part of Aston Martin’s ‘Second Century Plan’, a programme which has already seen the 103-year-old marquee announce a second UK production facility in the Welsh town of St Athan in order to produce a forthcoming crossover model.
“It’s an exciting moment for the entire company when the first car of a new model goes into production”, said Aston Martin supremo Dr Andy Palmer. “The DB11 is a special car and it heralds the start of a new and exciting era for Aston Martin.”
