A new engine added to the Dacia Duster range has bought with it an improvement in both performance and economy.
The Euro 6 compliant 155bhp 1.6-litre 16-valve petrol engine replaces the outgoing 105bhp power plant, and is available in the entry-level Access spec model from £9,495. That extra 10bhp sees the Duster’s 0-62mph time fall by half a second to 11 seconds flat for 4x2 models, and 0.8 seconds to 12 seconds flat for the 4x4 variant.
In 4x4 models, the new engine slashes 30g/km from CO2 emissions, now down to 155g/km with the associated lower Road Tax band, while for 4x2 models CO2 emissions are now 145g/km, a reduction of 20g/km. Fuel economy figures rise to 41.5mpg and 44.1mpg respectively, and the new engine not only reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, it also boosts towing capacity in 4x2 models.
Measures implemented to bring the existing dCi 110 turbodiesel engine up to Euro 6 standards has seen reductions in fuel consumption and emissions in Duster models fitted with that power plant, while similar improvements have also been achieved on much of the Sandero and Logan MCV ranges.
