Active Safety Brake will now come as standard on new Citroen C3 Aircross Flair models, the manufacturer has announced.

The model already boasts a five star Euro NCAP safety rating, but the addition of Active Safety Brake on all Flair trim models results in an even lower Insurance Group rating. Previously a cost option, the system reduces the risk of collision by braking in place of the driver, taking information from the multi-purpose camera at the top of the windscreen which detects obstacles such as a stationary vehicle or a car moving in the same direction at a slower speed, braking automatically when a risk of collision is detected, from 3mph to 52mph.

Prices for the new C3 Aircross start from £13,995 on-the-road, rising to £16,990 on-the-road for the range-topping Flair trim.
