BMW has unveiled a new collaboration with ski manufacturer K2.

The BMW Concept K2 Power Ride is a special edition X1 crossover aimed at winter sports enthusiasts, and is set to make its world debut at next week's Los Angeles Motor Show.

The special-edition X1 is painted in Valencia Orange and features a graphic which apparently takes its design from one of K2's skis and includes a stylised image of a fox.

BMW has also raised the X1's ride height by 8mm to make it more competent off-road, and have given the car 19-inch alloy wheels finished in Ferric Grey. The front and rear sills are also finished in Ferric Grey and the dark tinted side windows come with matte black surrounds.

The X1 Power Ride also comes with a BMW roof box which contains a Harmon Kardon exterior sound system, making it the perfect car for, er, ice cream men and, um, people who don't like their neighbours very much. The speakers generate 320W, while the subwoofer kicks out 500W and there's even a microphone included as standard.

Three LED spotlights are also incorporated into the roof-box, for that authentic disco-in-a-car-park experience.

Although just a concept, BMW claims that the Powder Ride hints at a special edition model which will go on sale in the US for $44,390 (£27,886).
