BMW has announced that it will participate in the upcoming film release from Paramount Pictures 'Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol' as the main automotive partner.
BMW is set to provide cars for use in the production of the new Mission Impossible film, starring Tom Cruise, after an agreement with Paramount pictures which makes it the main automotive partner for the film.
One of the cars which will be provided is the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics concept car, which has been lauded by many as the most technologically sophisticated and strikingly designed model out of the current crop of concept electric supercars. A production car based on the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics concept, called the BMW i8, is set to enter production in just a few years.
BMW Board Member for Sales and Marketing Ian Robertson said of the deal "We are thrilled to be involved again in another Hollywood Blockbuster. The BMW Group leads the way in developing future mobility with a focus on sustainability. One great example is the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics concept car which will be presented in the film. With its futuristic design and large glass surfaces, the car offers a fascinating perspective on the future of sheer driving pleasure - in combination with maximum efficiency. Also with BMW ConnectedDrive technology, it is the perfect car for Ethan Hunt to outsmart his pursuers through narrow streets and busy city traffic."
"Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol", which is being directed by Brad Bird, is due to be released in December 2011.
