BMW are celebrating after two of its models passed Euro NCAP crash tests with flying colours.
Both the new 1 Series and the new 3 Series can now boast full 5-Star Euro NCAP safety ratings.
The new front-wheel drive BMW 1 Series maintains the standard set by its two predecessors by scoring maximum overall points, the only blemish being the front seats narrowly missing out on a ‘good’ rating for whiplash protection. The larger 3 Series, now in its 7th generation, is now fully up-to-date with the latest in safety technology and driver assistance, and performed accordingly.
Euro NCAP Secretary General, Michiel van Ratingen, said, “It’s good to see the premium brands maintaining the very high standards they have set for themselves and continuing to achieve five-star ratings. I’m sure that BMW’s customers can be confident that the company will continue to strive for the highest standards of safety, even as our protocols get tougher and tougher.”
