British luxury carmaker Bentley sold over 10,000 cars in 2015, making it three years in-a-row that the company has achieved that sales milestone.

Sales were up in the domestic UK market, where Bentley sold 1,457 cars last year, but it’s abroad where the Crewe-based firm has been flying the flag for Britain.

North America remains the biggest overseas market, accounting for more than a quarter of the brand’s export sales, but with Bentley increasing its global presence to an unprecedented 58 markets during 2015 they were able to reap the benefits. Bentley experienced record sales in South Korea, Japan, and the Middle East, while the European market saw double-digit growth.  Only the downturn Chinese economy prevented Bentley from toasting total global success in 2015.

Bentley marketing boss Kevin Rose said: “This international success is a further indication of the strength of Bentley’s brand.  Not only have we established four key sales regions – North America, Middle East, Europe, including the UK, and China - we are also seeing markets such as South Korea, Russia and Japan grow rapidly too. This will only help us grow further, without compromising our exclusivity, and providing even greater long-term stability for Bentley Motors.”
