Audi has revealed a series of design sketches showing a new crossover SUV concept it plans to reveal at the forthcoming Beijing Motor Show.
Based on the Allroad Shooting Brake concept which was revealed at the Detroit Motor Show in January, the new car is rumoured to preview the upcoming Audi Q4, which will rival the likes of the BMW X4 and the Porsche Macan.
Audi is keeping the full details of the new car under wraps until it makes its Beijing debut; however, from the images we can glean that the concept will feature styling which is heavily inspired by the new TT which was revealed last month in Geneva.
The concept features a hexagonal grille, trapezoidal headlights, flared wheel arches and black plastic cladding like that found on Audi's existing Allroad vehicles. Inside, there are four individual seats, the rearmost two of which can be folded into the floor to increase luggage capacity.
Under the bonnet, the new Audi is powered by a plug-in petrol-electric hybrid drivetrain similar to that fitted to the Allroad Shooting Brake. No official performance figures have been released yet; however, we'd expect figures close to the 402bhp and 480lb-ft achieved by the Shooting Brake concept.
We'll keep you updated with news on the Audi concept in the run up to the Beijing Motor Show.
