Audi have announced a new bespoke version of the A8 to celebrate 21 years since the model was released in the UK.
The Audi A8 Edition 21 will be priced at £72,525 for the standard wheelbase variant and £76,490 for the long wheelbase model, and is available to order now with deliveries to commence in November. Just 121 examples of the Edition 21 will be produced.
The Edition 21 comes with the Sports styling package introduced on the recently revised A8 range. The result s a redesigned front end and rear bumpers as well as pronounced side sills. Also included are fully digital adaptive Matrix LED headlights, LED rear lights, and dynamic indicators. The model sits on unique 20-inch double spoke titanium-look alloy wheels. Privacy glass on the rear side windows is also standard.
Inside the cabin, the Edition 21’s upholstery comes in a choice of either cognac brown leather with contrasting black stitching or black leather with red contracting stitching. The front sports seats boast memory function with 22-way adjustability, integrated pneumatic lumbar and side bolster supports. Black cloth headlining and a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel are also standard, as are illuminated door sill plates bearing the Edition 21 logo.
Technology on the Edition 21 includes a HDD-based satellite navigation, a BOSE surround sound system, reversing camera, and a power-operated boot lid with hands-free opening and powered door closure.
Powering the Edition 21 is a Euro 6 compliant 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine linked to an 8-speed tiptronic transmission and quattro permanent all-wheel drive. This combo gives a 0 to 62 mph acceleration time of 5.9 seconds, increasing slightly to 6.1 seconds for the long wheelbase model, and top speed of 155 mph. Combined fuel economy figures of up to 47.9mpg are claimed.
