The year is 1998. B*Witched are at number one on the UK singles chart, the entire country is glued to 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' and Lamborghini has just wowed the crowds at the Paris Motor Show with its latest new concept car, the Pregunta.
The Pregunta was one of the last models Lamborghini made before it was swallowed up by the Volkswagen Group at the end of September 1998. Underneath, it was essentially a Lamborghini Diablo, sharing the Diablo's 530bhp V12 engine.
However, unlike the Diablo, the Pregunta was strictly rear-wheel drive. Lambo claimed a 0-62mph time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 207mph.
Sadly, the Pregunta never made it into production and, like B*Witched and 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" the Pregunta fell prey to the sands of time, only to be remembered by its most hard-core fans.
But now, nearly fifteen years since its debut, the Pregunta is up for sale. The price: 1.6million Euros (around £1.4million).
For that you get a 'combat jet-derived' cockpit which features fully-electric F1-style Marelli instruments, fibre optic lighting, a rear-view camera and that most futuristic of 1990s accoutrements: sat-nav.
The Pregunta's design was inspired by the Dassault Rafale fighter jet and -- get this -- Lamborghini even used the same sort of paint used on the aircraft on the Pregunta's bodywork. Neat.
So, if you've got an immensely fat wallet and fancy splashing the cash on a slice of late-90s Lambo goodness, visit Autodrome.fr for more information.
