The new Aston Martin DB11 Volante has been officially launched.
The new convertible joins the DB11 Coupe which was launched, and is built around the same all-new bonded aluminium structure.
Powered by a new 4.0-litre twin-turbo 503bhp V8, the DB11 Volante boasts an 8-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission, electric power steering and limited-slip differential with dynamic torque vectoring. The DB11 Volante has a striking single-piece aluminium bonnet, new wood or carbon fibre veneer panels on the seat backs, a tailored fabric hood available in a choice of bordeaux red, black silver or grey silver, ultra-slim ‘light blade’ tail lights, and new design forged alloy wheels.
The all-new 8-layer hood is designed to insulate the occupants from the extremes of weather and wind noise, taking just 14 seconds to lower and 16 to close. It can be operated remotely from the key, or on the move at speeds of up to 31mph with a 31mph headwind. The new hood design also results in a 20% larger boot capacity than the outgoing DB9 Volante. The new hood has undergone extreme real world testing in locations ranging from Death Valley to the Arctic Circle.
The Aston Martin DB11 Volante is priced from £159,900 in the UK, with first deliveries scheduled to begin during the first quarter of 2018.
