It's new year, new Suzuki Jimny, as the manufacturer has confirmed an all-new model for 2019.
Two trim levels comprise the all-new Suzuki Jimny line up which goes on UK sale in January. The entry-level SZ4 is priced from £15,499, while the SZ5 is priced from £17,999 for the manual version and £18,999 with automatic transmission.
The new model is the latest incarnation of the Jimny, first introduced in 1970. Over 2.8 million Jinmy’s have been sold worldwide in that time, and Suzuki hope the newest version of the iconic off-roader will continue that success. The new model retains the same sturdy, functional looks synonymous with the Jimny, with six body colours on offer including an all-new exclusive Kinetic Yellow hi-vis. The equipment list is the most comprehensive on the Jimny ever, including selectable 4WD with low ratio transfer, Dual Sensor Brake Support, Air Conditioning, CD Tuner, Bluetooth connectivity, Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning system, weaving alert function and front foglamps. SZ5 trim adds 15-inch alloy wheels, LED Headlights, Climate Control, Navigation with Smartphone link, rear privacy glass, heated front seats, and body coloured door handles. The all-new Jimny boasts an expanded luggage capacity of up to 377 litres as a result of rear seats which now fold fully flat.
The 1.3-litre engine which powered the outgoing Jimny gives way to a 1.5-litre unit which offers increased torque and fuel economy. With its ladder frame construction, three excellent clearance angles, 3-link rigid axle suspension with coil spring and part-time ALLGRIP PRO 4WD system, the Jimny boasts serious off-road credentials.
The all-new Suzuki Jimny range will hit UK showrooms in the new year.
