The BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer will be the first ever premium compact model to offer a seven seat configuration and will be available with an array of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines.

BMW have designed a vehicle which combines a compact exterior which is fit for urban driving with an intelligent interior set up which maximises seating and storage space. A sliding second row of seats with adjustable backrest, a third row of seats that can fold into the floor and accommodation of up to five universal child seats offers the flexibility a modern family needs.

Five engine options will be available including 220i and 220d versions which can accelerate from 0-62mph in as little as 7.8 seconds and a 220d xDrive option which merges four-wheel drive capability with seven seat layout, making it the only one in its class.

The UK market will see a range of exterior colour options and a range of choices in interior trims and alloy wheels; 13 paint finishes will be available alongside 9 wheel deigns ranging from 16 to 18 inches. BMW’s ConnectedDrive technology will bring driver assistance perks such as Collision and Pedestrian Warning, City Braking and Lane Departure Warning.
