Volkswagen EOS Overview
The Eos’s engine range consists of 1.4L, 1.6L and 2.0L straight 4 engines, as well as two V6 options, a 3.2L and a 3.6L, and a straight 4, 2.0L Turbo Direct Injection option.
The Eos is incredibly fun to drive and looks great; this does however come at a pretty expensive price.
Background
The VW Eos was first put into production in 2006 and was VW’s first production coupé since the Corrado in 1995.
The Eos began in 2004 as a concept car; a year later in 2005, a production Eos was presented. It is a standalone model with all new body parts (unlike its predecessor), on the other hand it shares its wheelbase with the Golf Mk5 and shares its platform and components with the Passat.
In 2009 a special edition version of the Eos was produced with customized wheels, a custom black interior and a black and white colour scheme. It included a wide range of stylish features and was available with all non V6 models.
In 2010 the Eos received a facelift, this version goes on sale in 2012.
The roof itself is well designed, using a five-piece mechanism. The roof takes up less space when folded and now includes a sunroof so that motorists may now enjoy fresh air and sunshine even with the top up. VW calls this design the CSC - coupe, sunroof cabriolet.
Summary
The VW Eos is an all-round good quality vehicle which provides a high quality finish and excellent equipment levels. The car is comfortable to drive and provides a good ride.
